A 19-slide presentation on abortion as an issue in bioethics. It explains the definition of abortion (ending a pregnancy by artificially expelling a fetus that cannot survive outside the mother's body) and its types, such as elective abortion, and summarizes the five grounds on which abortion is permitted under the Mother and Child Health Act and the penal provisions in Articles 269 and 270 of the Criminal Act. After looking at the situation following the Constitutional Court's decision of April 11, 2019, which held the abortion offense nonconforming to the Constitution, it compares the pro-life view, which gives priority to the fetus's right to life, the feminist view, which sees abortion as a woman's right, and the debate over the fetus's potentiality and personhood.
It introduces the trial of a doctor who caused the death of a baby born alive during an illegal abortion, the Roe v. Wade case, son preference in Vietnam and the opposition of religious groups, and presents the arguments for and against in a table.

낙태법 현황 (2019년 4월 헌법 불합치 결정 이후) 2019년 4월 11일 헌법재판소는 낙태죄에 대한 헌법불합치(2017 헌바127)를 결정 ① 낙태를 형사범죄로 구분하고 처벌하는 수준을 정하는 형법 제269조가 최소침해성을 위반하여 임산부의 자기결정권 제한하고 있다고 봤기 때문 ② 사회-경제적 이유로 낙태를 결정하는 임산부까지 처벌하는 것으로 임산부의 자기결정권이 크게 제한되는데 비해 태아의 생명을 보호하는 것이 사회 공공의 이익에 기여하는 바가 상대적으로 작다고 판단해 법익의 균형성이 맞지 않다고 판단했기 때문. 2. 낙태법
생명우선론은 우리 사회에서 낙태를 금지하는 측에서 취하는 관점이다. 이 관점에 따르면 임산부의 자기결정권보다 태아의 생명권이 더 중요한 권리이기 때문에, 임산부는 태아의 생명권을 존중해야만 하는 의무가 있음 생명우선론 관점 01 선택우선론은 우리 사회에서 낙태는 개인의 결정에 따라 허용되어야 한다는 입장을 취하는 관점이다. 선택우선론에선 보편적으로 태아가 출산 된 이후부터 생명권을 가지게 되기 때문에 낙태는 임산부의 자기결정권이 최고의 가치로 고려되어야한다고 주장 선택우선론 관점 02 피터 싱어 같은 공리주의자들의 논리- 공리주의자들은 소망과 관련된 “이익”을 인격체의 가장 중요한 기준으로 삼는다.
