Our Story

Why a study site ended up writing about law and leaky ceilings.

CampusDown started with a group of study-minded people and a pile of academic resources: notes, reports and the theories we kept coming back to. We built it to make studying a little less lonely.

Then some of us studied abroad, and honestly, it was hard. A lease we did not fully understand. A rule we only learned about after breaking it. A leaking ceiling and no idea what a fair repair price looked like. Getting by in another country while keeping up with classes took more than good grades.

That is where this English side of CampusDown comes from. Law matters because it decides what you can and cannot do, long before you ever see a courtroom. Home repair knowledge matters because a small problem gets expensive fast when you do not know what to ask. And surviving abroad is a skill you can learn from people who went first.

So we turned what we learned into content: the law wiki, repair guides and calculators, study-abroad information and a few lighthearted tests. We write in plain English, link to official sources and fix things when readers tell us we got something wrong.

How we write and check our pages

Our editorial policy, in five lines.

Editorial policy

  • We use real cases, real laws and official sources. When we are not sure, we say so.
  • No made-up reviews, statistics, people or personal stories.
  • Calculators show their method; results are planning estimates, not quotes.
  • Every page shows a review date, and we update it when we correct something.
  • Ads are labeled and kept apart from buttons, tools and downloads.

Sources we rely on

Repair pages list their own sources and calculation methods on each page.

CampusDown explains law and home repair for learning and planning. It is not legal advice, and repair estimates are not contractor quotes. For your specific situation, talk to a licensed attorney or a qualified professional.

Questions people ask us

Straight answers about CampusDown.

What is CampusDown?

CampusDown is a study platform built by a group of study-minded people. It started with academic resources for students in Korea and now has an English side with a US law guide and legal history wiki, home repair costs and templates, and study abroad tips for international students.

Is CampusDown's law content legal advice?

No. Our law pages explain court cases, rights and legal history for learning. They are not legal advice and do not create a lawyer-client relationship. For a real legal problem, talk to a licensed attorney in your state.

How accurate are the home repair cost numbers?

Our calculators give planning estimates, not quotes. Each calculator shows how it works and which inputs it uses, and real prices depend on your area, materials and contractor. Always get written estimates before you hire.

Who writes and reviews the content?

The CampusDown editorial team. Our members studied law, architecture and building repair, social welfare, early childhood education, nursing and business administration. Pages show when they were last reviewed, and we cite official sources wherever we can.

Why did you build the English site?

Because studying abroad was hard for us. Leases, local rules and repair bills were confusing, and good plain-English explanations were hard to find. We are writing the guides we wish we had.

How can I report a mistake?

Email helpcampusdown@gmail.com with the page address and what looks wrong. We check reports and update the page and its review date when we make a correction.
